Making a Claim
Samantha Prevett is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Upon the completion of an appointment, Solis Counselling Services will provide the client with a receipt with Samantha's RP registration number included. Although psychotherapy is not currently covered by OHIP (see here for more details), many private insurance companies do provide coverage. Contact your insurance provider for more information.

Confidentiality
At Solis Counselling Services, it is acknowledged that a very real barrier to seeking psychotherapy in a small town is feeling a lack of anonymity. Rest assured that at Solis Counselling Services, your privacy is of the utmost importance. No one outside of the therapy room will have knowledge that you are attending counselling unless you choose to share this with them. Respecting your privacy will be covered more thoroughly in the intake process.

Documentation and Storage
All clinical, financial and appointment records are documented using an electronic, PHIPA-approved case management system. Notes taken in session are kept in a locked filing cabinet or are destroyed immediately after session. Records are maintained for 10 years, as per the College of Registered Psychotherapist's Standard of Practice. For more information, click here

Electronic Services Platform
Solis Counselling Services utilizes a video conferencing platform that is compliant with the Personal Health Information Privacy Act (PHIPA). A pre-session test run will take place with your counsellor to answer any questions about the platform and ensure your comfort before your first session.
